Dr Mamta Shah MBBS MS PhD FRCS(Plast)
Dr Shah is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.
She is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Manchester and leads a small research group investigating burn wound healing and scarring.

Dr Sarah Gaskell, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Children’s Burns Foundation
Sarah is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has worked in the Manchester Paediatric Burns Service since 1997. She is Head of the Paediatric Psychosocial Department at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. She was one of the original team who brought the Burns Camp concept to Manchester and the UK and has gone on to become Director of the Manchester Children’s Burns Camp Programme. She has considerable experience of working with burn-injured children and has been involved in developing a number of innovative rehabilitation initiatives.
Sue Weighell FCA
As a Chartered Accountant, Sue runs her own business as a finance director and coach for businesses with growth ambitions. After many years in the accounting profession and industry, Sue brings her diverse experience to many organisations.
Sue has a portfolio of clients based in the North West and has grown her business from launch in 2011. Sue combines her client work with a variety of voluntary roles from supporting young people at Trafford College as a mentor and board member to hands-on involvement in women’s business groups, holding chair, treasurer and administrator roles at different times for different groups.
Samantha Bedford
Samantha is a qualified solicitor employed by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service. She has over a decade of experience in legal services, specialising in professional discipline and regulation.
Samantha spent the early years of her career at one of the UK’s largest commercial law firms, working with public and third sector bodies on commercial agreements, corporate governance and joint ventures. She has undertaken various voluntary roles, most recently including working with a homeless shelter scheme in Manchester and a surgical camp in central India.
Jonathan Smith
Jonathan is Operations Manager for a Telecommunications company based in Lancashire and has over 20 years of IT industry experience. He is father to Evie, who has received many years of treatment for a burn suffered as a baby and fully understands the huge benefits and importance of post-surgery support for affected children.
Outside of work, Jonathan holds a variety of voluntary roles including cricket coaching and positions in different local and community groups. He regularly plays squash and tennis, cycles and competes in triathlons. Weekends are often spent watching his sons play rugby or cricket.

Peter Davenport , Consultant Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeon
Mr Peter Davenport is a retired Consultant Burns and Plastic Surgeon with over 30 years experience working with children and adults who have experienced burn injuries. He worked at Booth Hall Children’s Hospital where he laid the foundations for the development of the enviable reputation enjoyed today by the regional paediatric burns service.
